Auto

Car Insurance

Auto cover is a stack of promises, and people often buy the stack without knowing which layer pays. Liability answers when you injure someone or damage their property. Collision and comprehensive language answers, in different ways, for your own vehicle. Medical portions, rental cars, and roadside extras sit beside those layers and are easy to treat as decoration until the week you need them.

Julian Crowe starts with use, not with the badge on the grille. A car that commutes every day, a car that sits for a grandparent’s weekly shop, and a car that carries tools to job sites are three different risks. The drivers matter as much as the vehicle. A newly licensed driver in the household changes the conversation even if they “only borrow it sometimes.”

What we walk through

  • Who drives, how often, and whether any driver is excluded.
  • Deductibles you could pay without borrowing.
  • Finance or lease gaps if the car is not owned outright.
  • The difference between a claim that follows you and one that stays with the car.

We will not invent a premium. We will help you request one with the drivers and uses written down, so the number you get back belongs to your garage and not to a sample profile.

Life

Life Insurance

Life cover is a way of leaving income behind in an orderly way. It is not a guess about what a person is “worth.” Amara Bennett builds the number from the ground: who depends on the income, which debts would remain, how long school or care would still need paying, and what savings already exist.

Term cover runs for a set number of years and then stops. That can be exactly right for a mortgage or for the years before children earn their own living. Permanent cover stays in force for longer and costs more because it is asked to do more. Mixing those ideas without saying so is how households end up paying for a product they cannot describe.

Questions we ask before a quote

  • Whose income, if it stopped, would change the household within a month?
  • Which debts are tied to a person rather than to a thing you could sell?
  • Do you want cover that ends on a date, or cover that is meant to remain?
  • Who should be named to receive the money, and is that choice still current?

Health questions on a life application are the insurer’s, not ours. We tell you why they are there and which answers you should check twice before you submit them. A careless answer can matter more than the monthly amount.

Home

Home Insurance

A home policy is really two or three policies sharing a document. Buildings cover the structure. Contents cover the things you would carry out if you moved. Liability covers injury or damage you cause to other people from the way the home is kept. Renters often need the second and third and not the first. Owners usually need all three, and the sums are rarely the same.

Elena Vasquez asks you to walk the rooms in your head. The sofa is easy. The laptop, the instruments, the tools in the shed, and the jewellery in a drawer are where contents sums go wrong. Understating them feels thrifty until a fire. Overstating them costs money every year. We look for the honest middle and for items that need to be named because a general contents limit will not stretch to them.

Edges we always mention

  • Water from a pipe is not always the same event as water from outside.
  • Empty homes and long trips can change what a policy will do.
  • Home business stock may need a business policy, not a contents line.
  • Rebuilding cost and market price are different numbers.

Health

Health Insurance

Health cover is a map of where you can go and what you may still pay when you get there. Marcus Hale separates hospital treatment, everyday clinicians, medicines, and the people in the household who need to be on the plan. A plan that looks generous on a hospital stay can still be a poor fit if the clinician you already trust sits outside it.

We talk about deductibles, copayments, and networks in examples, not in slogans. If a plan expects you to pay the first portion of a large bill, we ask whether that portion is money you keep aside or money you hope not to need. Hope is not a funding plan.

  • Who must be covered, including children who live between two homes.
  • Care you already use and whether a plan is likely to include it.
  • The difference between emergency treatment and a planned procedure.
  • Waiting periods and exclusions for conditions you already know about.

We do not give medical advice. We explain the payment structure around care so you can ask clinicians and insurers better questions.

Business

Business Insurance

A household policy almost never understands a business, even a small one run from a spare room. Nora Ellison works with shops, studios, workshops, and clinics that need language for liability, property, tools, stock, and the people who visit. The first question is what you do on a normal Tuesday. The second is what happens if that Tuesday goes wrong: a client is injured, a laptop with client work is stolen, a pipe ruins stock, or a job cannot be finished.

We separate cover you buy because a landlord or a contract demands it from cover you buy because the loss would close the doors. Both can be sensible. They should not be confused. A certificate that satisfies a contract may still leave your own tools unprotected.

  • Public liability for people who visit or receive your work.
  • Property, tools, and stock, including items that travel.
  • Whether professional advice you give needs its own cover.
  • Vehicles used for the business, which may belong in Julian’s auto notes as well.

Travel

Travel Insurance

Travel cover is timed to a journey. A policy bought after you have already left, or after a storm has been named, may not do the job you imagine. Owen Blake asks for dates, destinations, who is travelling, and whether anyone needs routine care while away. Cancellation, medical treatment away from home, and baggage are different sections. A cheap policy can be strong on one and thin on the others.

We also ask about trips you repeat. Annual cover can be calmer for people who travel often, and useless for a single long stay that exceeds its day limit. The number of days is not a footnote. It is the edge of the promise.

  • Trip length and whether you will be home between journeys.
  • Activities that policies commonly exclude, such as certain sports.
  • Existing conditions and what a policy will still pay for.
  • What “cancel for any reason” actually requires, if it is offered at all.
